Charlie Martin is a 2015 SS/RHP with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Dalton, GA who attends Dalton HS. Medium athletic build, young look. Right handed hitter, square upright stance, sound swing mechanics, short line drive swing, takes the barrel to the ball well, squared up fastballs well and showed some gap power, should continue to improve as a hitter with additional strength. 7.33 runner, soft hands in the middle infield, stays balanced with good footwork, developing arm strength, second base tools and arm strength. Also pitched, submarine pitching style, lands closed and stays balanced well. Low 70's fastball, topped at 73 mph with lots of running action. Big sweeping slider had good late bite at times. Threw strikes and got quick outs. Excellent student.
