Tanner Allen is a 2017 IF/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Theodore, AL who attends UMS-Wright Prep. Medium athletic build, has some present strength with room for more. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a good shift into contact, gets to his front side well, simple swing mechanics, very quick hands driving a short swing, hits the ball out front with hard pull contact, generates back spin and projects some power, has a nice feel for the barrel and squares up. Has very quick feet in the infield, lots of range, fields the ball cleanly out front, second base arm strength and release. Also plays the outfield. Verbal commitment to Louisiana State.
