Tristan Hopgood is a 2016 C/3B with a 6-0 215 lb. frame from Waveland, MS who attends Bay HS. Large, athletic build with broad shoulders and a strong, physical build with present strength. Ran a 7.31 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, short arm action on accurate throws down to second base, gains ground well with lower half, receives well with strength on throws. Fields the ball out front in the infield, short and quick arm action, moves well on feet and shows strength across with throws. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide, slightly open base and a lower hand set. Upper body swing, line drive swing plane with line drive contact, short and quick swing plane, will flash lift at contact. Good extension out front, will occasionally get to front side early, shows pop to pull side. Good student.
