2013 National Underclass Session 1
Hayden Durkiewicz is a 2015 LHP/OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Chandler, AZ who attends Chandler HS. Medium athletic build, lean and wiry with long limbs. Well paced delivery with a low effort cross body release, high leg kick start, throws under control, 3/4's arm slot, repeats his delivery well and has some deception due to cross body angle. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, nice running action, showed the ability to throw fastball to both sides of the plate with intent. Big breaking curveball with good depth and 1/7 shape, some developing feel for his change up. Filled out the strike zone and showed the ability to pitch. Left handed hitter, good hitting mechanics, gets loaded and coiled well, has some present bat speed, hard pull contact, consistent barrel. 7.10 runner, showed his athleticism in the outfield, quick release with some carry and very accurate throws. Good athlete who should continue to improve, has some two-way potential as well. Named to the National Underclass Session 1 Top Prospect Team.
