Lucas Karz is a 2015 1B/RHP/OF with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Mount Prospect, IL who attends Prospect HS. Big thick chested extra strong build, weight lifter's look. Right handed hitter, shows good bat speed and strength at contact when he stays on line and balanced, tends to lunge and step out, has the strength to drive the ball to the gaps when he stays balanced and short to the ball, uppercut swing plane. Good athletic actions at first base, soft hands with good footwork and some arm strength. Also pitched, compact arm action with a mid 3/4's arm slot. Fastball up to 81 mph with lots of cutting action, also threw a slider that showed hard spin and good biting action, worked quickly and threw strikes and had a quick, easy inning. Very good student.
