Ryan Mitschele is a 2016 RHP/SS with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Cornelius, NC who attends South Iredell. Tall, wiry frame with room for additional strength. Ran a 7.20 60 yard dash. Releases from a three-quarter arm slot and has a long, repeatable arm action. Pitches across his body but hits corners consistently. Reaches 81 mph with his fastball and also mixes an 11-5 curveball with late action at 68 mph. Flashes feel for 72 mph changeup. Also played the field, shows a smooth infield arm action and carry on his throws. Actions are sound and makes the plays consistently. Bats from both sides, works from a wide, upright setup and carries his hands high. Still developing strength and power, but has a fluid, line drive swing path. Good student.
