Patrick Merkel is a 2014 OF/ with a 5-8 147 lb. frame from Lexington, KY who attends Tates Creek. Lean, medium frame with room to fill. Strength will come with maturity. Ran a 7.68 60 yard dash. Shows good actions from the outfield. Makes accurate throws and has a short arm action. A right handed batter with a slightly open, wide base set up. Starts with hands high and is able to generate bat speed with good extension. Line drive contact hitter. Excellent student.
