2003 Western Underclass Showcase
Waite is a very young 2006 prospect who showed us tools and skills both at the plate and on the mound. He is primarily a right handed pitcher and threw in the 78-80 mph range with his fastball. Waite’s best pitch was a 66 mph curveball that had good depth and bite to it. His pitching mechanics and arm stroke are smooth and tension free and it’s very easy to project him gaining future velocity on his pitches. The wood bat is a bit heavy for Tyler right now in terms of bat speed but he showed a very good game ability to get the fat part of the bat on the ball and hit line drives, going 4-5 at one point. Tyler is a scrappy player who hustles all the time and should continue to get better and faster as he gets stronger and more physically mature. He's a very interesting "06"
