Drew Carlson is a 2005 RHP/OF from Boca Raton, FL. He is a physically solid 6'1" with good square shoulders and strong hips and thighs. He has an easy on-line delivery that produces a fastball in the 75-78 mph range, along with a 62-64 mph curveball and 67 mph change up. More lower half involvement would help Carlson’s velocity. He also swung the bat pretty well in batting practice and in games. He hits from a very open stance and doesn’t stay on the ball long, but showed very good hand/eye coordination and hit the ball solidly while collecting a couple of base hits. He has a good feel for pitching. Drew is a good student.
