Tim Melville is a 2008 RHP/3B with a 6'5'', 205 lb. frame from Wentzville, MO who attends Wentzville Holt HS. He has a long, lean body with a long torso and loose, easy actions to him. Melville firmly established himself as one of the top pitchers in the 2008 class in Cincinnati. He has a fluid, on line delivery and his arm flows with little or no tension. He throws downhill with a heavy fastball that was often 94-95 mph and appears to jump on hitters because of the ease with which he throws it. Melville's curveball is a solid second pitch with good depth and some sharpness and his change is starting to develop. Melville throws strikes with all his pitches and has an idea what he's doing. A big plus for Melville is his athleticism. He's a power hitting third baseman with excellent defensive tools and some power in his bat. He'd be a national level position prospect if he didn't have the pitching. Melville's package on the mound resembles another former top 2-way athlete, Mark Prior. Melville is a very good student. Selected to 2007 Aflac All-American team.
