Joe Mercier is a 2015 SS/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Glastonbury, CT who attends Glastonbury. Large, lean frame with long limbs and room to fill out. Middle infielder who makes the play and shows smooth actions in the infield. Posses soft hands with a nice transfer and throws across the diamond from a low three quarter arm slot, showing some strength. Right handed batter who hits from an upright stance with a narrow base and toe tap trigger. Upper half swing with loose wrists and a middle of the field approach. Easy swing with a line drive swing plane. Also pitched, throwing from a three quarter arm slot. Fastball topped at 74 mph with occasional arm side run and spots well to outer half. Drops down to a low three quart arm slot on curveball, showing tight spin and depth on the pitch. Change up has fade and dip on pitch low in the zone. Outstanding student.
