Ricardo Espinosa is a 2006 first baseman/third baseman from Flushing, NY with a medium build that shows strength at 6-1, 185 lbs. He has very good speed and agility for a first baseman with a 7.06 60 time and has played plenty of third base in the past as well. He shows good hands on defense and very good range. Espinosa hits with a no stride approach and uses his very strong hands to drive the ball. More use of his lower half is just going to unleash more power in the future. Espinosa has very good bat speed from a line drive swing plane. He shows the ability to hit the ball hard to all fields and has gap to gap power right now. More lower half involvement will give him some lift in his swing and he'll start reaching the fences. Espinosa has always hit very well in WWBA events and been a dominant run producer. He is a very good hitting prospect who should make an excellent college level hitter. He is also a very good student.
