Rhys Steinhorst is a 2006 catcher/second baseman from Richmond, Virginia, with a 5'7", 155 lb. frame. Steinhorst is a switch hitter with a quiet set up and good balance from both sides, and he uses a very open stance with a good load. He showed better bat speed from the left side with more of a line drive swing plane and more strength in his swing. Right handed he still shows solid bat speed, he just picks it up a notch from the left side. Right handed he is more of a slap hitter that puts the ball in play. Steinhorst is a solid defensive catcher with good receiving skills. Steinhorst is a gamer who understands the game well, and plays hard on every pitch.
