Brian Read is a 2012 RHP/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Independence, MO who attends Truman. Slender athletic build has a lot of projection. Solid two-way prospect, has upside on the mound and at the plate. On the hill showed good arm speed, good rhythm and a solid 11-5 Curveball. Threw a lot of strikes and worked ahead in counts. Switch hitter at the plate, showed he can swing it well from both sides. Good raw bat speed and quick hips, fared well against live pitching in games, has good projection. Arm plays well in Outfield, also showed good energy, accuracy on throws with good carry, a quick release and good athletic Outfield actions. Interesting prospect to follow.
