2003 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase
Tennant is an "04" SS/3B from Ontario. At 5'9/170 he showed some interesting tools. He runs fairly well, not a burner. He has a good strong arm that was clocked 85 mph across the infield. He has quick feet and nice hands, he can play defense. Probably the most surprising aspect to Tennants game is the power he displayed. In BP he showed serious bat speed with loft from both sides of the plate. He was very aggressive attacking balls. He actually hit most everything straight up in the air. But these were not high school pop ups, these were the Big League pop ups with lots of hang time. That’s enough to know there is some serious power potential involved. In the games he hit balls hard, deep into the gap and just continued attacking the ball. Remember he is only 5'9/170. Fun to watch him hit! Liam is a good student.
