2004 Underclass National Showcase
Josh Siebenaler -- Siebenaler is a small junior second baseman from Florida but don’t be deceived, this kid is going to play at the next level and play very well. First of all, Siebenaler is a tremendous defensive second baseman in all respects and one of the better defenders at the showcase. His arm strength is close to big league average and he has very quick, sure actions. Siebenaler’s double play feeds are pro level right now. At the plate, Siebenaler gets surprising bat speed from the left side and has a nice level, line drive swing. He blasted a triple over the right fielder’s head just to make sure we knew he had some pop in his bat but his approach is more leadoff oriented in nature. Siebenaler ran 4.38 to first base, which is pretty quick, and we imagine that he’s a good bunter as well. He’s also a very strong student.
