Josh is a 2005 grad from Patrick Henry High School in the San Diego area. He stands 6'0" 160 lbs with an average frame and lean build. He is a finesse LHP that will come at hitters from different angles and he especially likes to drop down on LH hitters. Josh is a good ground ball pitcher and in this performance was good at keeping the ball down in the zone and getting ahead of the hitters. He has a balanced delivery and compact, repeatable arm action and gets some sink on a fastball that topped out at 81 mph. Josh throws a 65-67 compact curve ball that's tough against LH hitters and when he drops it down it becomes more of a sweeping slider type of break that really moves away from left handed hitters. Josh is the kind of pitcher who knows and understands his pitching style and should get a chance to use that style at a good college level. Josh is a solid student, as well.
