2006 National Showcase
Jordan Waters is a 2007 right hand hitting outfielder from Plano HS, residing in Plano, TX. He was listed as a switch-hitter in the program though did not swing from the left side in either the BP or the games. He has a lean, athletic build on a well-proportioned 6'0" 175 lb. frame. Waters showed much better in BP than he did in the games, as did many of the hitters at PG National. He has an easy, low effort swing and took good swings with balance. He did display some swing length but his timing was good and he accelerated through contact, while hitting many line drives. In the games he showed that he is still developing a consistent timing mechanism, but he does possess good hitting tools and should continue to be followed. In the outfield he showed a well above average arm with the ball exiting quite well from his hand. Not only was his arm strong, but Waters threw accurately, executing perfect one-hop throws that were easy for the infielders and catcher. He is a good looking outfielder with good range and routes. Waters ran 4.55 home/1st with a 7.16 60 yard time. He is still developing his all-around game but has a projectable tool set and good athleticism. He is a D1 prospect that has as chance to develp into a quality professional prospect during his college career.
