2004 Underclass National Showcase
Andrew Brouillette -- Brouillette is a sophomore third baseman from Louisiana with a barrel chest and strength throughout his body. It’s the kind of body that needs constant work to keep loose and Brouillette did show some looseness. He took a very good batting practice with one of the simplest, shortest swings we saw all showcase. It’s nothing but using his strength to quickly take the bat head directly to the ball. Brouillette made consistent hard contact in games as well and looks like a high average type of hitter. Defensively, Brouillette’s hands work very well on ground balls. He also threw 2 innings and showed some arm strength, touching 82 mph from a straight over the top release point. He’s a very good student, also.
