Kyle Hathcock is a 2008 RHP/OF with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame from Raleigh, NC who attends Athens Drive HS. He has a slender, medium frame with long arms and legs. Hathcock throws from a well paced delivery with good balance over the rubber and on release. He has a smooth arm circle in back and his arm works well coming through. Hathcock's best stuff came from a 3/4's to high 3/4's arm slot but he tended to drop his release point on some pitches and it hurt him. When he stayed on top he threw quality pitches to good spots. Hathcock's fastball was 84-86 mph and had some life to it. His breaking ball was a hand position slider that had soft spin at 73 mph but was consistent. He threw what looked like a split change and tended to aim it. Hathcock should keep improving his raw stuff as he gets stronger and he makes adjustments with his off speed pitches.
