Matthew Madewell is a 2026 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Raleigh, NC who attends Ravenscroft. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves very well on feet and shows a bounce in step, quick actions in lower half with fundamental footwork, lower slot on throws across the diamond, arm strength on throws will continue to develop, two hand gather on the charge play. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; knee lift trigger for timing in the box. Sound swing mechanics and repeats them well, stays through the ball and works to the middle of the field with comfort. Occasionally opens front side early, shows rhythm in swing, line drive contact and carry coming off of the barrel. Excellent student.
