Tyler Carlson is a 2027 OF/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Savage, MN who attends Prior Lake. He has a tall frame with a lean, athletic build and a high waist. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.61 seconds. Primary outfielder that moves well to the baseball and fields it off of his front foot with good mechanics. He throws from a lower slot and made strong, one hop accurate throws to the bases. He is able to generate nice carry on his throws. Secondary right-handed pitcher that works from the middle of the rubber. He utilizes a knee to belt leg kick and uses a shorter stride down the mound while working in line with the plate. He throws with a long, circular arm action and fires from a low 3/4 slot. He does a nice job of hiding the ball well, allowing his fastball to get on hitters. He showed the ability to create nice downer action on his curveball. He works quickly from the stretch, keeping runners close and limiting the run game. Also worked out in the infield, showing a nice feel for the glove and making accurate throws across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts with a wide base that is square to the pitcher with high hands and a high back elbow. He uses a toe tap trigger for timing and does a nice job of staying compact to the baseball. He creates nice bat speed through the zone which allows the ball to jump off of his barrel when he makes contact out in front of the plate. He has a slightly uphill swing that allows him to leverage the ball into the gaps. He is not afraid to let the ball travel before sending it hard the other way thanks to his whole field approach. Named to the 2023 14U Midwest All-State Games Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
