Jacob Malfant is a 2026 SS with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Cortlandt Manor, NY who attends Walter Panas. Slender young build with lots of time and room to get stronger. Primary middle infielder on defense, shows good body control with some first step quickness to the ball, fluid actions fielding the ball and into his transition, can change his arm slot and make accurate throws on the move, some young carry on his throws, showed some feel for playing defense in the middle of the field. Right handed hitter, hits from an upright slightly open base, has an early stride into contact that kills his weight shift, showed a short hands driven swing and a short line drive swing, tends to aim the barrel, will learn to hit through the ball as he gets stronger and refines his mechanics. Good student.
