Calen Mitchell is a 2028 SS/RHP with a 5-3 110 lb. frame from Dacula, GA who attends Mill Creek. Recorded an 8.51 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop with a lean frame. Fielded the ball with two hands out front, employed a longer arm action in the back, released from a higher slot. Right-handed hitter and starts from a medium base with slightly closed feet and a deep hand set. Utilizes a toe tap timing trigger and stays on a level bat path through the zone. Stays compact and swing is line drive oriented. Secondary right-handed pitcher and begins delivery with a leg lift to waist level. Stays under control with delivery and releases from an over-the-top slot. Worked to both sides of the plate and flashed a breaking ball. Generated a good amount of swing-and-miss.
