Eric Klem is a 2008 MIF with a 5'10'', 150 lb. frame from Chandler AZ, who attends Mountain Pointe HS. He has a compact athletic body that is built for the middle of the diamond. Klem is a good baseball player who appears to really know the game. He plays a winning style of baseball, built more on steady substance than style, but with ability level. He has a quiet hitting approach and a short stroke, with plus hands and a quick bat. Klem looks tailor made for the two-hole in a line-up with his ability to make consistenly solid barrel contact. Defensively he flows to the ball well and has a quick release. There is little flash with Klem. His actions are efficient and he simply makes the plays. He has good hands and an arm that is suited to 2nd base. Strong D1 teams seem to have players like Klem contributing on an everyday basis, in a number of different ways. Klem fits the profile of a winning, college ballplayer.
