Joey Gumuls is a 2025 C/ with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Palos Heights, IL who attends Marist. Medium frame with a sturdy build showing strength in the lower half. Ran a 7.56 second sixty yard dash. Primary Catcher, sitting down in the stance well proving to be flexible in the legs. Receives the baseball well out front. Gains ground quickly before releasing from a higher slot. Accurate to the bag on throw downs with a pop time of 2.16 seconds. Blocked balls up well and proved to have feel for receiving in games. Switch Hitter, from the left-side, even base to start. Big stride in with one weight transfer forward. Accurate barrel control proving he could square it up out front. Feel for it from this side. From the right-side, similar set up as he strides out. Longer cut while staying linear. Proved he could find the barrel from this side but not as much pop compared to the left-side. Possesses the early skills to switch hit down the road. Great Student. Named to Great Lakes Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
