Jayce Chard is a 2027 RHP/1B, 2B, OF with a 5-8 130 lb. frame from Petaluma, CA who attends Petaluma. Has a smaller lean frame with plenty of room and time to add strength/size. Ran a 8.47 60-yd dash. In the OF, he showed a solid approach working through the ball well while fielding it deeper in his body. His arm action was longer out the glove showing avg. strength at 76 mph that made accurate 1-hop throws to the bag. In the INF, he fielded every GB clean showing quality glove feel fielding everyball clean with some avg. footwork/quickness while using the same longer arm action. At the plate, he sits in a narrow base and uses a leg lift trigger; he starts early but doesn’t land consistently on-time. It’s a more hands dominant swing where he exhibited avg. bat speed and showed a deeper contact point throughout for a more opposite field type approach. On the mound, he side steps into a chest high knee tuck and gets down the mound for a more tall/fall type delivery. Uses a longer AA out the glove that releases to a normal ¾ slot with avg. armspeed and finishes taller at landing. His fastball worked up to 75 and mixed in a developing mid 60s changeup and curveball.
