2023 California Workout Showcase (Sunday)
Brendan McClure is a 2024 OF/ with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Chatsworth, CA who attends Chaminade College Preparatory. Medium, compact frame with square shoulders and plenty of strength in his lower half. Recorded a 7.43 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary outfielder with deliberate footwork throughout the fielding process. Fields deep off his front foot, gathers using methodical pace and maintains momentum into release using extra steps. Recorded arm strength up to 76 mph during drills. Left-handed hitter that hits from an upright, open stance with exaggerated high hand set and high back elbow. Incorporates an inward, hover trigger to get back square and start the swing process. Whole field approach with some feel for the barrel and strength at impact. Showed budding gap-to-gap impact potential and exceptional extension through the baseball. Displayed sound bat-to-balls skills and will continue to add power. Strong, physical prospect with developing overall skill set and offensive prowess, will continue to improve defensively with proper mechanical adjustments and refinement. Good Student.
