2023 Deep South Prospect Showcase
Jordyn Mallery is a 2024 RHP/2B, OF with a 6-0 168 lb. frame from Maurice, LA who attends North Vermilion. Mallery ran a 7.76 sixty yard dash. He has a wiry frame with plenty of athleticism and some more room for added strength. Primary right handed pitcher it was a methodical slower delivery with a hip high leg lift and some deception within the operation. There was a longer looser arm stroke that was straight over the top with some angle. The fastball showed some late life to it as he does a great job commanding it to both sides of the plate. He mixed in an 11-5 shaped breaking ball with some depth and tightness. In the OF he showed some aggressiveness to the ball catching the ball cleanly out in front with some accuracy and cary on his throws. RHH works with a medium closed base with a small toe tap trigger. The hands stay low and drop at contact as he showed a linear swing through the zone. Jordyn worked a line drive oriented approach working to the middle of the field. He is an excellent student.
