Rory Funke is a 2028 OF/LHP with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Needham, MA who attends The Fessenden School. Large, athletic frame with narrow shoulders and present physical strength proportioned well throughout. Ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. Graded best on the mound in this look, athleticism plays in delivery, deliberate and calm leg lift at start of delivery, fast arm through the backside and does a nice job of working downhill. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, hard running life on the pitch through the zone with occasional cut action. Worked down in zone with fastball, tends to slow on release of curveball but shows shape to it and improved throughout, up to 70 mph with better bite late. Easy mover in the outfield, methodical in approach, fields it out front and works downhill on throws, nice present arm strength with accuracy. Left-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a high back elbow, slightly open stance. Tends to get mistimed in swing, works the other way and will continue to unlock more strength, present bat speed through the zone. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
