2023 Deep South Prospect Showcase
Jamen Francis is a 2025 1B/3B, OF, UT with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Jeanerette, LA who attends New Iberia Senior High. Jamen showed some speed as he ran a 7.03 Sixty Yard Dash. Primary First Baseman showed a long athletic build with some strength throughout. With athletic actions at first there was plenty of lateral movement with sound footwork while fielding the ball in the middle of the body. He showed quick turns on the throws with some cary across while dropping to arm slot when needed. In the outfield he showed easy actions staying back on the ball while fielding it to the side. The arm action was long and loose with accurate throws to the bases. Right handed hitter started with a wide even base with a slight leg lift trigger. The hands work linear through the zone with some looseness to the barrel showing consistent contact and some strength to the pull side. Francis is a good student.
