2023 California Workout Showcase (Sunday)
Garrett Boyd is a 2026 SS/RHP, OF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Venice. Lean and projectable frame with some present strength. Ran a 7.78 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows good feel for the leather. Made backhand plays with ease. Longer arm stroke with good strength and accuracy across the diamond, sound footwork on the move. On the mound he features a tall, lean frame side steps to belt high lift, shows drop and drive style with medium arm action and three-quarters release point. Fastball command was average but showed some decent sink when he got on top. Straight changeup was properly executed. Curveball features short break with slight late depth, not spun overly hard but landed it at will. Very projectable. At the plate he uses a wide base with a flat bat set up. He has a clean path with an all fields approach. Generates good bat speed and gap power. He is an excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
