Dustin Moneymaker is a 2006 RHP/MIF from South Doyle High School in Knoxville, Tennessee, with a 5'11'', 185 lb. frame. He is a lean and athletic two-way player. On the mound he throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with slinging type arm action. He gets ahead of the hitters early with his 78 mph fastball that he works on the corners. His best pitch is his two-seam fastball that gets good running action in on the hands of right handed hitter. Moneymaker throws many curveballs with solid break at 71 mph. Defensively he has nice footwork in the middle of the diamond with good hands. Moneymaker has good range to both sides, and shows body control as well. He is a right handed hitter with solid bat speed. He is a patient hitter with a line drive swing plane that makes consistent contact. He has a good eye at the plate and tracks pitches well, especially curveballs.
