Brayden Friend is a 2027 SS/RHP with a 5-8 125 lb. frame from Grimesland, NC who attends D H Conley. Long, lean and overall athletic build with some hop to his step and a lot of time to add more physicality. Ran the 60 yard dash in a solid 7.08 seconds. Primary position IF, playing nicely in his legs and sticking his nose on the ball. Could come get it a bit more but he creates good angles and shows clean glove work to easy midline transfer. Quick release to multi slot throwing ability with throws up to 73 mph across the diamond. Reps in the OF as well, working glove off to side and then squaring well to throws up to 76 mph here. Secondary RHP, working from an offset start using the full windup from the 1B side of the rubber. Quick cadence overall to his delivery, leg lift to just above the belt and transitions quickly down the slope. Breaks hands at letters into full inline path and accelerates through a low-3/4 arm angle. Tends to work a bit side to side rotationally but when inline and vertical the ball jumps out of his hand with some good life. FB up to 75 mph with more in the tank and solid spin traits. Only flashed a couple breaking balls that had two-plane slider type characteristics in the upper-50s. RHH starting from a wider stance and good handset at the shoulder out away from his body. Solid hand speed and direct path to the ball with good bat head feel. Repeats mechanics well and really showed ability in live ABs where he consistently smoked line drives gap to gap. Enthusiastic young athlete with a ton of two-way potential to watch in the coming years.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
