2023 Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Joseph Irvine is a 2026 RHP/1B with a 6-4 230 lb. frame from Swedesboro, NJ who attends Kingsway. Extra-large frame with advanced physicality for a player in his class. Big presence on the mound for sure. Primary position RHP, working exclusively from the stretch and slightly offset to start from the 1B side of the rubber. Stationary hands at the belly and waist high leg lift where he works into a full mostly inline arm path. High 3/4 arm angle with emerging arm speed and limited transfer of energy from the lower-half. FB peaked at 68 mph with lower-spin profiles and tended to push the ball to the arm side. Showed SL in the low-60's with subtle break but the spin to make a jump soon. Secondary 1B, working methodically through reps, bending at waist to field with glove presented nicely out front. Showed ability to throw from multiple angles. RHH working with a wide base and high back elbow to start. Hands tight to body and works inside the ball as he peppered line drives back up the box. Some dense strength in hands and has a solid feel for the barrel. Once he grows into his body, the tools are going to jump quickly.
