Josh Midanek is a 2026 C/2B, OF with a 5-9 135 lb. frame from Highland Park, IL who attends Highland Park. Medium frame with slender, young build at present; ran 60 yard dash in 7.36 seconds. Hits from spread stance with open hips, leg lift trigger to start, engages back hip early, clean path but delayed entry at times, showed good barrel skill to the pull-side once timing was found, flashes of solid hitting tools that will develop with physical maturation. Primary catcher, high set behind the plate in very wide start, shows quickness to footwork and transfer, double pump arm stroke at times, clocked up to 72 mph on throws. Also worked out in the outfield, efficient footwork, good feel for reading hops, clocked up to 83 mph on throws, good carry to them as well. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
