James Poletes is a 2027 OF/RHP, 3B with a 5-8 147 lb. frame from Okemos, MI who attends Okemos. Recorded a 7.38 second 60-yard dash time. Primary outfielder with a medium frame and athletic young build. Aggressive approach working through the ball with one-hand gather on the side. Crow hop into throws with some carry and accuracy at 76 mph. Hands work in the infield with early glove presentation and funnel out front. Clean footwork bouncing around with young actions to the backhand and throws across the diamond at 77 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a high tucked lift working from the middle of the slab. Direct to the plate with a medium arm swing and a 3/4 arm slot release. Controlled the fastball in the zone up to 77 mph (1954 RPM) and a slow breaking ball with depth at 57 mph (1781 RPM). Repeats his delivery and with added strength to his young frame should tighten up the breaking ball as he matures with present arm strength. Right-handed hitter with a wide base and high hands setup in the box. Toe-tap trigger stride with linear bat path through the zone. Middle-field approach with line-drive stroke when early to contact out front. Excellent student.
