2023 14U National Showcase
Maxwell Stewart is a 2027 1B/RHP/C with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Cathedral Catholic. Bigger and taller frame. Showed some strength and physicality in the build. Sturdy lower half. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Worked out as an outfielder with choppy steps working into it as he gloved it and had a jumping step into the throws. Threw 83 mph from the outfield and was able to piece together a clean and athletic round of throws. Athletic actions working through it, being able to show off clean glovework. Clean transfer and was fluid overall. A left-handed hitter who used a hanging leg lift trigger to get on time with pitches. He was able to get the hips and lower half involved well, utilizing his strength and physicality to drive the ball well during his round of BP swings. He was able to lift the ball out front and work pull-side for his best results. Showed the ability to elevate the ball to right field during his BP swings. Produced an 86 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Also worked out as a first baseman with two-handed fielding up the middle, sending throws across the diamond at 80 mph. Worked into the throws with a good funnel and clean transfer to work into release. Also worked out as a catcher with a higher setup. Threw from a lower slot at 68 mph and produced a 2.17 pop time during his round.
