2023 Carolina Top Prospect Games (Tues-Wed)
Ben Skelton is a 2024 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Rutherfordton, NC who attends Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy. Thick and really strong build. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread straight stance, late hand take back, looking to pull the ball and will hit around it at times, has the strength to drive it when he's on time. 7.37 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, changes his arm slot well and makes accurate throws, fields the ball cleanly and makes the plays. Also pitched, full windup with a short leg raise over the rubber, slow paced and deliberate mechanics. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, mostly straight, also threw a soft slider. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
