2022 National Underclass West Showcase
Jared Flores is a 2024 1B/ with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Catalina Foothills. Ran a 7.69 second sixty. Primary fist baseman with a larger build. Showed firm glove actions at first base receiving the ball deep before working into his throws from an over the top slot. Worked in the stretch only on mound with a leg lift below the belt sitting into the back side before driving down the mound. Short arm action through the back up to a high three-quarters slot with the fastball sitting 70-72 mph. Mixed in a cutter at 66 mph with short life across the zone and young changeup with developing feel for the release point at times. Left-handed hitter, starts with a wider base and slightly open stance, rotates the upper half into the load to create separation, showed intent to the swing path with an uphill swing plane using the entire field with young bat speed.
