Caleb Van Lant is a 2027 SS/MIF, OF with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Murrieta, CA who attends Temecula Valley. Features a smaller/lean frame with present athleticism. Ran a 7.17 60-yd dash. In the INF, he exhibited solid defensive actions. There’s lightness to his feet that play through the baseball well through reception. Has quality glove skill as well showing natural feel for his backhand. His arm action was shorter out of the glove with some stiffness at times to release showing avg. arm strength across getting up to 74 mph with 50/50 accuracy. At the plate, he sits with a medium base with real loose hands. He uses a smaller leg lift trigger that lands late at times into footstrike. It’s a shorter and more direct swing path that caught the ball at a deeper point of contact and produced several LDs to the opposite field. He stays behind it well with balance throughout the swing and some natural feel for the barrel. Named to Top Prospects List.
