Jack Finkelstein is a 2024 RHP/OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Merrick, NY who attends John F Kennedy. Large, athletic build with some present strength in his lower half, with more strength remaining to be added throughout his frame. 7.71-second runner during the sixty. Primary right-handed pitcher, worked with a full wind up that he repeated well over the course of his outing. Clean arm action, coming from a 3/4 arm slot. Sat in the 76-80 mph range with his heater, topping out at 81 mph with more left in the tank as he adds muscle. Pitched to contact, generating weak contact throughout his outing. Tended to slow his arm speed down when going to his breaking ball. Showed 11-5 shape with some late vertical bite to it. Mixed in his change-up as well that flashed some tumble through the zone. Secondary outfielder, aggressive approach to the ball, fielding off to the side as he carried him momentum through his throws well. Got on top of his throws to the bases with on line throws to the bases, up to 76 mph. Also took reps in the infield, deliberate actions, playing under control. Compact arm action with some carry on his throws across the diamond, up to 78 mph. Switch hitter, from the left-side, setup with a wide base and tight hands. Displayed feel for the barrel, impacting to the pull side. Present strength translated into swing. From the right-side, even, balanced stance with a high back elbow. Rotational swing, with inconsistent feel for the barrel, tending to leak forward to the ball. Good student.
