Jacob Maurer is a 2027 1B/LHP, OF with a 5-9 148 lb. frame from Blacklick, OH who attends Gahanna Lincoln. Smaller slender frame. Ran a 7.89 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman with developing footwork and mechanics, makes the routine play, and shows developing arm strength on throws. Hit from and even base with an upright stance and leg lift timing at the plate. Developing strength in the swing, with a direct hand path and linear bat path through the zone, solid average feel for the barrel with under control swings and the ability to use the whole field. Some solid traits to develop at the plate. Showed fastball and curveball on the mound out of an over the top arm slot. Does get some extension out font on the fastball and he worked to fastball to both sides of the plate well. Developing breaking ball spin but showed consistent 1-7 shape and located it around the strike zone. Worked quickly and got outs efficiently during his outing. Outstanding student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
