Alex Allain is a 2026 2B/RHP, SS with a 5-9 135 lb. frame from Fryeburg, ME who attends Fryeburg Academy. Smaller, lean frame with a high waist, long levers and plenty of time to physically mature. Primary second baseman with a developing defensive skill set. Used deliberate footwork into the fielding process, some lateral range from side-to-side and fairly clean glove work. Worked through the backhand with some smoothness and recorded arm strength up to 73 mph across the diamond during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a slightly higher leg lift into balance and shorter stride out to foot strike. Fastball worked mostly in the upper-60s with some arm-side run to it and topped out at 72 mph in this look from a compact, higher three-quarters arm slot. Mixed in a promising changeup as his go-to- secondary offering, as he killed spin on it effectively and sunk it to the bottom of the zone. Flashed developing curveball with promising spin rates into the 2250 RPM range, will continue to improve with mechanical adjustments and additional velocity. Left-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, slightly open stance with a high, tight hand set and high back elbow. Contact oriented stroke with compact swing path and excellent bat-to-ball skills. Whole field approach with consistent line drive contact throughout. Will continue to expand his overall hit tool with additional strength. Fundamentally sound defensive skill set with some offensive prowess present. Good Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
