Jackson McNew is a 2027 C/1B, 3B, UT with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Middleville, MI who attends Caledonia. A compact build and a lean look. Taller frame. Ran a 7.29 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who used a slight side saddle start. His throws were quick from a short-arm action. Was able to keep throws accurate with short hops to the bag or in the air and low to the tag zone. Threw 70 mph down to second during his round of throws while producing a 2.15 pop time. Projectable throwing actions behind the plate. Aso worked out as a first baseman who had some good bounce around/off the bag. Athletic footwork. He fields it up the middle with a two-handed smother and was able to look the part during the fielding portion. Threw 75 mph across the diamond. A right-handed hitter with high hands and a lower back elbow to start. Has an even base with the feet, and his hands drift back as he loads up. He uses minimal step and stride to get on time. Works well pull-side when he gets that barrel out front and connects. Produced an 83 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Excellent student.
