KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Avery Davison is a 5'4, class of 2026, MIF from Wichita, KS who attends Valley Center HS. Avery is an emerging talented player with a firm grasp of her ability in all phases of the game. She ran a 3.58 20-yard dash with a 1.25 5-yard split. A primary IF, Avery shows solid first step quickness and positions easily and confidently. She has easy hands and a smooth glove. She transitions with momentum and her 53-mph throws are firm and accurate. Avery also took a turn behind the plate with the gear on. As her secondary spot, her skills are still emerging, but she shows a solid fundamental understanding of the position. She receives well and transitions with certain ability. Her 51-mph throws are consistent and her 2.25 pop time is especially good for her age group. At the plate, this LHH has an advanced feel for the bunt game. She has a contact first approach and has a top hand dominant operation, trying to hit line drives and hard ground balls to take advantage her speed. She has a flatter bat path and is strong and quick to contact. She did show some ability to drive the ball and power could evolve as she matures physically and adds strength. Sound approach, especially for a player so early in her career. Avery has the right idea. She is athletic and understands her ability. She plays within that scheme quite well. With continued attention to detail and exposure to higher level competition, Avery should progress to prospect status. She has the skills! Bright future!
