Matthew Carrasco is a 2027 3B/RHP, 2B, SS, MIF, IF, OF, UT with a 5-5 125 lb. frame from Red Oak, TX who attends Lakeridge. Small, youthful build that will naturally progress as time progresses. Ran a 7.98 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, developing arm strength across the diamond right now, has some feel laterally with the feet, glove works to both sides of the body, feel for the backhand, softer hands, makings of an internal clock for the spot and projects with size. Secondary right-handed pitcher, full wind up from the first base side of the rubber, medium paced mechanics and delivery with quick release through the slot, shows slide step in the stretch, straight fastball topped off at 71-mph and sat in the upper 60's, rolling curveball shown mid 50's and flashed a slider with some short horizontal shape at 64-mph, some cut to the fastball, working on consistency in release point. Right-handed hitter, small leg lift and stride, rocker load, developing feel for the barrel, will stand to gain from addition upper half strength in the swing. creates some separation, has a chance long term with current swing. Will be interesting to see the long term outlook once physical strength comes into the profile.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
