Matteo Gruendig is a 2024 3B/SS, OF, UT with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Bradenton, FL who attends IMG Academy. He ran a 7.70 second sixty. A primary third baseman with a medium athletic build that projects well moving forward. On the infield he showed stiffer actions as he received the ball out front transitioning into a longer gather with a short arm action as he showed the ability to change the slot going to his left while maintaining his accuracy with developing arm strength. Right-handed hitter, starts with an even base showing good timing to the swing with the barrel playing out front getting extended through contact as he keeps the bat head in the zone a long time. The swing projects for more juice when he adds more strength to the build. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
