KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Abbey Dusterhoft is a 5'6, class of 2023, C/3B, OF, UT from Ramsey, MN who attends Anoka HS. Abbey is an upper class player with a veteran's approach to a skill set that projects. She ran a 3.43 20-yard dash with a 1.15 5-yard split. A primary catcher, Abbey shows plus upside ability behind the plate. She has a solid set and easy actions. She shows softer hands and receives well. She throws from her knees and has the arm strength and agility to make this style work. Her 53-mph throws are firm and accurate. Her 2.10 pop time is plus average. Solid effort. She also took a turn on the infield. Her quick footwork really plays well here. She positions routinely and shows plus actions to field. Her glove is smooth and consistent. She makes a sound transition and her arm plays. Her powerful 57-mph throws hold their plane and are highly accurate. Plus round. At the plate, this RHH has a plus feel for the bunt game. She handles the bat well. She has balanced stance and a contact first mentality. Her bat path is flat and she gets to and through contact well. Power will probably never be a big part of her game, but getting on base, running the bases, putting pressure on defenses, and scoring runs, will be. Abbey has a great feel for her fundamentally sound game. She is a sound defender and can move the ball around the field. She certainly has collegiate ready ability! Solid prospect!
