KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Morning Session
Maddy Anthony is a 5'10, class of 2025 RHP/3B, OF from Oakdale, MN who attends North St. Paul. Maddy is a truly gifted athlete with a very promising future in the game. She shows classic two-way skill and can swing the bat. Her athleticism was evidenced through her 3.40 20-yard dash and even more impressive 1.16 5-yard explosive burst split. A primary RHP, Maddy's height, strength, and leverage truly play well. She incorporates a longer arm circle and repeats her powerful lower half mechanics well. She can really spin the ball. She shows five sound and projectable pitches. All pitches flow from the same release point and build upon each other. She has two rise balls like most accomplished pitchers. Her "get me over" rise is a short, quick jumper that moves late. She also has the big, hopper that explodes up. The big rise starts at release and has a pronounced sudden rise through delivery. Her screwball is thrown with heavy torque and has noticeable arm-side run/boring action. The screwball has a bit a drop component and should chew up RHH. Her fastball has a lot of drop component to it and she works that pitch ably to both rivers and all quadrants. Her change is quite deceptive in that it tunnels from the same release point as her power pitches and is thrown with the same arm speed. No variation in delivery makes her change a big plus pitch. She has a college build right now and with a number of years of both HS and travel ball left to refine her game, Maddy will be a top, DI prospect as a P when her time comes. She is not just a pitcher, either. She took a round on the infield and her true ability and athleticism really shone through here. She is very smooth and easy with her actions. She reads the ball off the bat well and positions easily. Her glove plays and she has a very quick transition. Her powerful 57-mph throws are firm, hold their plane, and are highly accurate. Talented on the dirt! At the plate, the RHH shows a steady idea of how to bunt. She uses a wider base at the ready and her load to generate torque is pronounced. When on time and on plane, she can strike the ball. She can power the ball and considering she is only a HS freshman, her ability to get the barrel to the ball with plus force is impressive. Maddy is an elite prospect. Her game is college ready right now and should she choose to continue to work to improve her already impressive skills, she will impact a program of her choice down the road. Unlimited ceiling. Bright future!

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
